The ‘Bloom’ vocalist brings his intimate queer transformation to a sold-out Radio City Music Hall
Troye Sivan amazed lucky fans at Radio City Music Hall on Tuesday night (October 9) with the debut of hisKid Removedtune “Discovery.”
The unreleased track, a hard-earned partnership in between Sivan and Sigur Rós’s Jónsi, is included in Joel Edgerton’s upcoming gay conversion treatment drama starring Lucas Hedges. The movie follows a teenager having a hard time to accept his sexual identity in a little Baptist neighborhood. Sivan also appears in the movie in a supporting function, playing a young guy who is registered in the same ex-gay program as Jared (Hedges).
After reserving the role, the South Africa-born singer was excited to share his entire brochure with Edgerton in the hope that his tunes would be featured in the movie. In the end, 2 tunes made the cut:Flower‘s emotional breakup ballad “The Good Side” opens the movie, while “Discovery” plays at a crucial moment of intimacy in Jared’s journey, when he understands that “this individual who he’s with is a transformation to him.”
