Taylor Swift carries out “I Did Something Bad” at the 2018 American Music Awards.
Simply two days after lighting up the web with a rare, impassioned political declaration, Taylor Swift continued fanning flames– actually!– at the American Music Awards on Tuesday night (October 9).
Swift– trading in her metal red carpet gown for a sparkly black leotard– began the awards show with an appropriately over-the-top performance of herReputationbanger “I Did Something Bad.” On trip, she carries out the song with a dragged out introduction, and Swift chose for that exact same plan on the AMA stage, even stopping briefly for dramatic result after the venomous lyric “if a man talks shit then I owe him absolutely nothing.” You might practically see those flames on her skin.
The performance climaxed with the witch-burning ending, as Swift riled up the crowd with her “light me up” chant. Flames shot up around her, lightning struck on the screens behind her, and a massive snake raised its awful head in the center of the phase. This was Swift’s first awards reveal performance in practically three years– and the first of herReputationera– and she certainly returned with a bang.
Soon after her explosive performance, Swift won the AMA for Best Tour. She’s up for extra three awards at the program, including Pop/Rock Female Artist and Artist of the Year.
