Takeoff releases the regal video for “Last Memory,” the lead single from his debut solo album.
Migos might be one of the greatest groups in music, however Quavo and Offset tend to command most of the spotlight. That changed on Friday (October 26), when the most low-key and under-appreciated Migo, Launch, released the lead single from his upcoming debut solo album.
“Last Memory” discovers Takeoff ditching his peaceful personality and taking a brasher method to life, as he spits high-speed bars like, “I go to space with the stars/ Might smoke a blunt with my pilot” over a high-frequency loop. In the blue-filtered video, directed by Rohan Blair-Mangat, Departure lords over a chilly estate, sips champagne with designs, and surrounds himself with bodyguards resembling those of The Queen’s Guard. Heiship-hop royalty, after all.
“Last Memory” is the first taste of Departure’s upcoming debut solo album,The Last Rocket, which will supposedly arrive on November 2. In a recent interview, Quavo recommended that all 3 Migos members would launch solo albums prior to the group’sCulture IIIlanding in early 2019. Which certainly seems taking place– Quavo notched the No. 2 album on theSignboard200 today with his own debut solo effort,QUAVO HUNCHO, and now Takeoff appears primed and all set for his shot at solo fame.
